Preparing for the Vehicle Inspection

Hi. This heat is unbelievable, isn't it? I am going to dry up. If this becomes an everyday occurrence, I will practically evaporate into enlightenment. The whole situation is well out of bounds.

Even in this heat, customers still come, which amazes me. Putting a helmet on in this weather takes determination.

This motorcycle is in for its Japanese vehicle inspection. Let's start with the brakes.

I will clean them up. The pads are getting low, so we will replace them this time. We are changing the coolant too. I recommend checking this as part of inspection servicing, although some modern long-life coolants have much longer replacement intervals. The specified interval depends on the vehicle and coolant.

We will replace the spark plugs this time as well.

Iridium plugs are standard on this bike, so the higher cost is a painful part of the job. The engine oil and filter will be changed too. This time we will charge the battery and ask it to keep going a little longer. Hang in there!

Inspection servicing is extremely unglamorous work. You are looking for anything that is wrong. You cannot just decide not to check something, which is why it takes time. If a part we do not stock turns out to be needed, we have to wait for it to arrive.

The biggest enemy at the transport office's inspection lanes is the heat, wherever you stand. Heat reflected off the concrete makes the conditions especially harsh. Rain is no fun either, but this heat is something else.

Let's keep working without giving in to it. See you.
